Tom is the owner and founder of Rensselaer Swine Services. He graduated from Purdue University with a DVM degree in 1979 and initially entered into a mixed animal practice in Illinois before moving to a mixed animal practice in Rensselaer in 1981. After several years of focusing on swine production medicine, he started Rensselaer Swine Services, P.C. in 1991. He obtained diplomate status with the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Swine Health and Management Specialty in 1989 and successfully was recently recertified for another term. He is a graduate of the Executive Veterinary Program from University of Illinois in 2009. Tom consults with swine operations worldwide and has been involved in the swine industry since his 4-H years on a hog and grain farm in north central Indiana. Professional involvement includes membership in the American Association of Swine Veterinarians, American Veterinary Medical Association and Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. Tom is the past president of American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) and chairperson of the AASV Task Force on PCVAD from 2006 till 2009. He has several papers on different topics and pathogens in the literature. Tom has lectured in most hog producing states in the United States and Canada and several countries in SE Asia and Europe. Tom and his wife, Denise, live in Rensselaer and have three kids: Kevin graduated from Purdue with a degree in Ag Systems Management and is plant manager of Remington Hybrids, a seed corn company in Francesville, IN; Matthew graduated with a degree in Ag Systems Management from Purdue University and is working as a supervisor for ADM in Beach Grove, Indianapolis; and Kendra is a graduate of Rensselaer Central High School and enrolled in Ball State University. Tom's hobbies include gardening (especially growing roses), spending time with his family, shooting sports, camping and fishing. |

Dr. Megan Nemechek
DVM

Megan was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina. She is one of four children of Gene and Susan Nemechek of Springdale, Arkansas. In 2006, she received a Bachelor degree in Animal Science from North Carolina State University, and then went on to veterinary school also at NCSU. She graduates this May from veterinary school with her focus area being in Food Animal Medicine. Megan is a member of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians (AASV) and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP). While in school she has been very active in these organizations, serving as the president of the student chapter of AASV and serving as the vice president of the student chapter of AABP at NCSU. She is also a member of Catholic Campus Ministry at the Doggett Center Church in Raleigh.
At her recent annual veterinary school awards banquet, she received the following awards: "Pfizer Swine Proficiency Award" presented by Dr. Almond and Dr. Scheidt., as well as the "W.C. Brownie Investigative and Diagnostic Medicine Award for Food Animal". |

Denise is the co-owner and office manager for Rensselaer Swine Services. She is responsible for accounting, inventory control, purchasing and keeping the entire business running smoothly! Denise and her husband, Dr. Tom Gillespie live in Rensselaer and have three kids: Kevin graduated from Purdue in Ag Systems Management, is married to Bonnie and currently working for Remington Hybrid seed corn company. Matt graduated from Purdue with his Ag Systems Management degree and will be marrying Erin Barr in September. Kendra graduated from Rensselaer Central High School in May and will be going to Ball State University majoring in Entrepreneurship and Marketing. Denise's hobbies include traveling, reading, scrap booking, and spending time with family. | ||||

Paula is the PigCHAMP extraordinaire at Rensselaer Swine Services. She is in charge of herd PigCHAMP records for nearly 30 farms. Paula also assists with all customer service duties. She has been with us since 1995. Paula and her husband, Charles, live near Rensselaer and have 3 sons. Ryan works for I & S Furrer farms near Wolcott, IN. Nathan and his wife Jessica live near Morocco, IN with their three daughters, Heidi, Harley, and Makenna. Nathan is site manager for Cambalot Swine Breeders. Adam works for Remington Hybrids in Francesville, IN. Paula's hobbies are watching Nascar, quilting, and spending time with her granddaughters | ||||

Jason joined the staff at Rensselaer Swine Services in January 2007. He handles all IT related tasks and assists Paula with PigCHAMP data entry. Jason is from Rensselaer, IN and graduated from Ivy Tech in 2005 with an associates degree in Computer Information Systems and also holds Comptia A+ certification. He is currently the webmaster of Dale Earnhardt Jr's online racing website at dmp-racing.com. Jason's hobbies include playing guitar, web design, graphic design, and watching NASCAR. | ||||

Teri Rodibaugh joined the RSS staff in August 2009 as a part-time employee. Teri and her husband Jim are part of a family purebred swine and grain operation in Jasper County. Five children have filled their lives with joy. Justin, a Purdue Ag Econ graduate, is a part of the staff of Heritage Seeds. He is married to Rhonda who works at Jasper Co. Hospital and substitute teaches in the Rensselaer School Corp. Jeremy, a Huntington University grad, is an elementary physical education teacher in the Twin Lakes School Corporation. Daughter Amy, a Purdue Elementary Education major, is Title One Reading and Math Specialist at Tri-County Primary School. Twins, Kyle and Jenna, are both sophomores at Purdue majoring in Agribusiness Management. Teri fills her time working here at the clinic part-time, Bible Study Fellowship and church activities, gardening and enjoying time with her family. |
